Rewiring Anxiety: Unveiling the Power of Neurofeedback through QEEG Analysis

A pre-post study of 40 adults (mean age 34.7, range 18—65) with DSM-5 anxiety disorders — 45% generalised anxiety, 30% social anxiety, 25% panic disorder — conducted at the Brain and Behavior Laboratory of the Psychology Research Institute, Baku. Post-intervention QEEG showed increased alpha activity, decreased high-beta activity and an elevated theta/beta ratio, correlating strongly with symptom reduction. Unusually, the study assessed effects on posterior brain regions as well as the traditionally targeted frontal areas.
